Riding Mower Model 725K, ser. # 490490, year 1999, hours on meter-1095.
Deck: Model 9661, ser. # 495455
Engine: 25hp Kohler Command CH25S (complete replacement engine)
We traded for this mower with a weak cylinder and found a rocker arm was loose. This type of engine had a common issue with that, so we removed both heads and upgraded them with new valves, rocker arm pivots and pivot bolts. The new parts are much stronger and better-designed than the originals. We were able to look at the cylinder bores then and they looked very good. This engine is a replacement engine purchased from the Kohler distributor in our area. We found that out when we submitted the serial number and spec number to them, so this engine does not have as many hours on it as the rest of the mower.
The mower looked like it had been well maintained so we decided to give it a full inspection. The gearbox for the deck was serviced with new oil, the rear wheel bearings were cleaned, inspected and greased, and all 6 of the deck spindle bearings were replaced with new double-sealed bearings. We found one spindle that was starting to make noise so we replaced all 6 bearings. The blades weren't very old so we sharpened and balanced them. We installed a new Interstate battery and changed the engine oil and filter. The fuel filter was also replaced.
The seat was good except for the armrests which had small tears in each so I bought new ones and put on the foam grips for the control handles too. The belts all look very good.
There is financing available for this mower if you need it.
